Exhibition “Role of Romani Printed Media in Preserving Romani Cultural Identity”

On 20 December the exhibition “Role of Romani Printed Media in Preserving Romani Cultural Identity” was opened in the NBS Slavija Gallery.

The exhibition presented several hundreds of exhibits – magazines and books, out of which 150 were in the Romani language and on the Romani people. They were collected in the past thirty years by Mr Dragoljub Acković, PhD, President of the Association of Citizens “House of Roma Culture” and the author of the exhibition. The collected items were also used by other authors, which is how Miloš Acković’s book “Role of Romani Printed Media in Preserving Romani Cultural Identity” was created. This book could be regarded as a kind of a catalogue of this exhibition.

The exhibition was realised with the support of the Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade and was open to the public until 1 February 2019.

Visitor Centre
