Exhibition “Theatre Dolls Inspired by Kosovo Covenant”
On Friday, 26 April 2024, at 12 p.m., the exhibition “Theatre Dolls Inspired by Kosovo Covenant” will be opened in the exhibition hall of the NBS building on Slavija Square (17 Nemanjina Street).
The forty-six dolls selected for the exhibition are a part of the rich and creative output of students at the Preschool Teachers Training Course, at the Teachers Education Faculty of Belgrade University. The dolls were created from 2019/20 on the Drama and Movement Course (Department for the Serbian Language and Literature and Methodology of the Serbian Language and Literature), under the tutelage of prof. Ana Milovanović. They present the protagonists from the exam plays performed before children in hospitals and children’s homes. All the plays reenacted motifs from Serbian epic poems of the Kosovo cycle.
The students who prepared the plays brought to life the heroes of the Kosovo Covenant, inspired by the unparalleled beauty of Serbian medieval art and Serbian epic poetry of the Kosovo cycle. Committed to their educational mission and aware that the Kosovo epic heroes uphold the highest moral values, the students imbued the characters in their plays with the very same virtues.
The avatar of the Kosovo Maiden, created at the Faculty’s Robotics and AI Centre, will welcome guests to the exhibition.
The exhibition runs from 26 April to 26 June 2024, business days, 10–18 hrs. Entrance is free.
