Exhibition of paintings of Ranko Brkić
Exhibition of paintings of Ranko Brkić will be opened in the NBS Exhibition Hall in Slavija Square, on Monday, 12 August, at 7 pm.
The exhibition showcases around fifty acquarelle, oil pastel and oil paintings created in different periods of Brkić’s work. What binds these works into a cohesive whole is primarily the artist's interest in nature. The dominant landscape motif is found by the author on his many journeys – Fruška Gora, Hilandar, New Zealand, etc. – and in his immediate, everyday environment – Zemun, the Danube, etc.
Brkić was born in Zemun in 1948. He graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade and started painting in the 1970s. Since then, he prepared more than forty independent and group exhibitions in the country and abroad. The most prominent ones were those in Auckland – New Zealand (Papakura and Temark Galleries), Zemun (Stara kapetanija Gallery, Ikar Gallery), and Belgrade (Jubmes Gallery, International Press Centre, Crnjanski Gallery).
The exhibition will be opened by art historian Branka Milutinović and will run until 22 August.
The gallery is open every working day from 10 am to 6 pm.
