In the period from 28 October until 1 November, the NBS will implement a diverse financial education programme for children and youth to mark the World Savings Week.
The NBS Visitor Centre will host students from the “9. maj” secondary school of economics from Sremska Mitrovica. This time, the plan is to include the youngest participants as well, so children from the kindergarten “Dečiji gaj” will have an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, art and skills in the workshop “Draw a banknote of your own choice” designed for their age.
Grammar school "Svetozar Marković" from Niš is where the workshop “Counterfeits” will take place. The students will learn about the history of forging money in our territory and the main characteristics and details of the security features on dinar, euro and dollar banknotes.
Further, grammar school students will play an educational game “Saving for Ageing,” using sophisticated financial products to plan their own financial futures travelling through time from the moment of their birth through growing up, schooling, employment, setting up families, until retirement. In this way they will enter the world of adults, step by step.
The presentation “Miloš Obilić in the monetary history of Serbia” will be held for Obrenovac grammar school students. This presentation is enriched by the accompanying lecture which integrates facts, cult and the heritage of Miloš Obilić with dinar banknotes featuring his portrait in different forms issued after the First World War. The said programme thus covers two epochs in detail, stressing their timeless significance.
