Photo exhibition “Nature as Heritage”

The photo exhibition “Nature as Heritage” by Milivoje Jovanović will be opened on Wednesday, 4 December, at 4:30 pm, in the exhibition space of the National Bank of Serbia at Slavija, Nemanjina 17.

Milivoje Jovanović has participated in numerous photo competitions and over forty group exhibitions and photography salons both in Serbia and abroad. Among them, several stand out, including the Black and White Macro competition, organised in 2019 by the prestigious Digital Photographer Magazine, where Jovanović won a gold medal for his photograph “Dragonfly in Black and White”. He also won a gold medal for the same photograph at the 2018 competition organised by ON1, a leading company in software for photo editing. He earned a special award at the world-renowned ornithological photo contest BTOTY for his photograph “Cranes and the Moon”. Additionally, he received a gold medal for his photograph “Long-eared Owl” at the Selective Colour competition, organised in 2020 by Photocrowd, where only the top 1,000 ranked photographers could participate. In various competitions in Serbia, organised by National Geographic Serbia, the news agency “Beta”, the Photo Association of Serbia, and others, he has also won gold, silver, and special awards. He is a regular participant in the Photography Salon of the National Bank of Serbia employees, where he has been named the best author three times.

Jovanović is a member of several naturalist groups, which, in addition to photographers, bring together biologists, ecologists, amateur researchers, and others. His photographs of the flora and fauna of Serbia are included in the database of the Petnica Research Station and the European NaturaList database and have been published in scientific journals.

Regarding his work, Jovanović says: “Nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, and the positive energy it emits stimulates my creativity. My inspiration comes from my love for nature, and the photographs are a testament to that. At first, I photographed landscapes, animals, birds, dragonflies, then butterflies, plants, and all living things down to the tiniest insects. The micro-world of insects is especially interesting and diverse, it is a world of unreal colours that we can clearly see only in macro photography. The most accurate way to put it would be to say that what attracts the lens of my camera is nature in the broadest sense.”

The exhibition will be open until 13 December, on working days from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.
