The exhibition “My Banknote,” organised by the Metropolitan University, will open on Monday, 2 November, at 6 pm, in the exhibition hall of the National Bank of Serbia at Slavija, Nemanjina 17.
The exhibition will present original banknote design solutions created by students of the Faculty of Digital Arts at the Metropolitan University. Within the specific requirements involved in creating conceptual solutions, the students used different visual approaches to explore ways in which recognisable elements of national identity can be presented in a new and original manner. These solutions simultaneously confirm that, in addition to having its basic function, a banknote can also be a medium for artistic expression, storytelling, and affirmation of the values of a society.
This project, created in cooperation with the NBS, offered students an opportunity to combine the knowledge acquired during their studies with the specific requirements of banknote design. With the mentoring support of their professors, they developed authentic solutions that combine tradition and contemporary design expression. At the same time, the project provides an opportunity for young designers to present their ideas to the wider public.
The exhibition at the NBS will be open to the public until 6 November, from 10 am until 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
